Paddle Board Fin Screw and Plate

This paddle board fin screw and channel plate connects your fin to the base of your fin plate. This is solely for use on our classic stand up paddle boards. Our inflatable paddle boards come with a hook and pin fin that does not need any hardware to install.

Description

Paddle Board Fin Screw and Channel Plate

This is the paddle board fin screw and channel plate for securing the center fin in a standard longboard box. The center fin setup comes included with the purchase of every standard paddle board. The fin on a classic stand up paddle board is different from the fins that come with our inflatable paddle boards. The standard fin that comes included with every inflatable SUP purchase is a the hook and pin paddle board fin

You may be wondering if you can install a hardboard fin onto an inflatable paddle board. Ou inflatable paddle board fin boxes are not compatible with a regular hardboard fin set. We specifically designed a fin that could easily be taken in and out of the iSUP fin box for maximum efficiency and portability.

Do you have to have a fin to paddle?

Yes, installing a center fin into your paddle board is necessary to have a good paddle boarding experience. Although the paddle board will still stay afloat and is still functional, it will be very difficult to paddle in a straight line. With each paddle you will turn dramatically to the side you are paddling and so you will have to constantly switch sides to paddle in a straight line. With a center fin, this solves that problem.

Fin Installation Instructions:

SUP fin replacement center fin and screw for all Tower hard boards and the Tower Xplorer 14' x 8" iSUP.

Version 1 Xplorer boards were sold before 2014. Be sure to check your fin box on your inflatable paddle board before ordering. Our newer version of the Xplorer iSUP is not compatible with this type of sup fin replacement.

How to Replace your SUP Center FIn:

Step 1: Gather your materials. You will need a SUP center fin and a screw and base plate. The screw and base plate will already be in the fin box in the board. You will also need a screwdriver.

Step 2: Unscrew the screw out of the base plate but leave the base plate in the fin box.

Step 3: Place the fin into the fin box using the channel guide pin to guide it into place.

Step 4: Line up the base plate with the hole in the center fin.

Step 5: Using the screwdriver, tighten the screw into place so that the center fin is completely taught.

Step 6: Enjoy your paddle board!
