How Tower Designs Hard Boards for Entry Level Paddle Surfing

Hardboard SUP's are the perfect option for those who want a faster SUP board that they can also surf waves with. Due to their superior turning radius and maximized planing speed across water, hardboards are the preferred SUP board to use while sup surfing.

We strived to make beginner-friendly sup surfing boards that are still advanced enough to aid you through your progression of the sport. As a beginner you still want that bulky volume in a board, so you sit high above the water. Its also important that a sup surfing board has a great deal of stability while floating and surfing waves, both of which our Wooden Classic's provide.

An In-Depth Look at Tower's Beautiful & Classically Styled Wood Paddle Boards

Both our hardboards are constructed with the highest quality materials and finished with a beautiful wooden glossy outer layer that's guaranteed to turn heads. Both sup boards are shaped with a large rocker which helps the board's nose stay above the water even when making sharp turns.

Let's take a look at the differences between the two models.

The Wood Paddle Board 11'5 Classic is tailored to those looking for the best all-around stand up paddle board on the market while wanting the rigid, classic nature of a hardboard. This paddle board is to primarily be used in flatwater and calm oceans. The added length of the board makes planing across the water more effortless, and can reach higher speeds while on flatwater compared to our 9'10 sup model. If you are looking for a stylish stand up paddle board used for exercise and traveling across calm waters, than this is the board for you.

The Wooden SUP 9'10 Classic is our most agile and progressive SUP. If you're looking for a sup board that can also perform extremely well in surf, then this is the board for you. It won't hold you back as you progress in the sport, and can easily be used for both flatwater SUPing and wave riding. At a volume of 216 liters and a width of 32", this 9'10" board has more flotation and better stability than most traditional 11'+ cruisers on the market. It will effortlessly float a 250+lb paddler, or even an adult paddler and a small child riding on the nose. If you are looking for a great beginner stand up paddle surfboard than this is the option for you.
