Sup leash
This 10' SUP surfing leash is constructed with a 5/16th urethane cord. A triple wrap SUP rail saver is attached on one end, and a paddled calf cuff on the other which wrap securely around your calf with heavy duty Velcro.
Dakine makes both a straight and a coiled paddle board leash. Straight leashes are the most commonly used paddle board leash and work just as well as coiled leashes. The only difference being, some paddle boarders find coiled leashes more compact and less draggy than a straight leash. On the other hand, some paddle boarders find coiled leashes to be too restricting and compact, and like the feel of a natural long leash. The decision is completely up to personal preference.
Although leashes are not fundamental in SUPing it can be advantageous to have one, especially in crowded environments. It's always a good idea to wear a leash to ensure your board does not fly away and potentially harm someone if you were to fall off.
Dakine leash history
Surf leashes were the original product that Dakine made. Dakine started making leashes in the late 70s that were specially designed to handle the treacherous waves on Maui and the Hawaiian islands. Their products are tried and tested in the most unforgiving circumstances. They know leashes as well as any company, so you can be confident their SUP surfing leashes are some of the best in the business.
