Yes, you can apply any kind of lubricant to the bearings. Be sure to dry any excess once you have sufficiently lubricated the bearings. Additional lubricant can actually cause dirt and grit to to get stuck in the bearings resulting in additional wear and may result in the bearings ceasing.
