Five Hour Workday Invented by Tower Paddle Boards

San Diego, CA June 1, 2015 - The surf lifestyle brand, Tower Paddle Boards, has decided to go against the grain, be the rising star in the corporate industry and defy the logic of an eight hour work day.

Since June 2015, Tower has switched over to a highly productive five hour workday. The five hour work day encourages and teaches the Tower employees to be extraordinarily productive individuals, where they work at two to three times the pace of an average person. It also propels an image that Tower's work week is better than most people's vacation weeks. Essentially portraying the Aussie mindset of working to live, not living to work. CEO/Founder, Stephan Aarstol, believes that it is both of these things that make a significant impact on a company's success.

"We want everyone to see the five hour workday, the Inc. 500 ranking, the fastest growing company in San Diego, the company parties, trips, weekly events and say, 'Wow, this brand and these guys are onto something... I want a piece of it,'" explains Aarstol. He goes on to say, "We've got to work differently and live differently. Live a great lifestyle, but also exhibit extreme ambition in all the projects we do."

Under the five hour workday, Tower has plans to expand its company by adding 25 new product categories within the next few years. Some of these brands include sunglasses, surf boards, bikinis and more.

UPDATE: Years later, Tower authored a book on this 5-Hour Workday experiment
