If you’re well past your prime in terms of physical coordination and strength, learning to surf will likely be a challenge. You’re going to be competing for waves with people who have much more experience than you, and you’re going to have to deal with being a new face in the crowd. You’ll also tire faster, and you may lack some of the agility of younger surfers. But you can absolutely learn to surf at any age — just have patience, use a board that will maximize your ability, and stay positive.
