In the wake of signing on billionaire Mark Cuban as an investor in late 2011, Tower went out looking for a solid marketing and strategic point person to help guide Tower beyond its initial success and into a major player in the stand up paddle board market. Ashley came with the highest recommendations from the head of the MBA program at Western Washington University, also the founder Stephan Aarstol's alma mater.
Ashley’s passion for marketing and innovation is central to everything she does. She specializes in identifying the core benefits of products and services, effectively communicating these benefits to the market, and creating valued, lasting relationships with customers. Prior to joining the Tower Team, Ashley executed several projects which implemented organizational tactics to increase business efficiency while increasing the firm’s competitive advantage. One such project involved developing and implementing a client and business management system that measurably increased client/advisor efficiencies at a large financial investment firm. She also conducted high-leverage marketing research and strategic analysis for Microsoft, and co-developed the infrastructure for an innovative customer loyalty program.
A recent transplant from the Pacific Northwest, Ashley is thrilled to be living in San Diego and working in a fun, dynamic company that is part of such a booming industry. She has a strong connection with her family and community and in her spare time she enjoys exercising, reading, writing, and staying active. Ashley holds two degrees in Marketing and Finance, as well as a minor in Economics from Western Washington University. Her philosophy is that great brands are those that are both personal and experiential; in order to attain brand preference, you need passion for the brand purpose and a comparative advantage that differentiates your brand from the pack.
